What a Summer

Hello my friends,
It has been so long since I have blogged and I miss it. I went to Florida to care for my mom. She has jaw cancer and was needing extensive surgery. During the time I was there, she was rushed into another emergency the next day,had a heart attack and many other things. My 2 week visit ended up being 5 weeks, but was happy I was with her. I feel like I didnt have much of a summer. I'm finally getting back to crafting. My newest fun is SMASHING,love it! I will post some photos of my smashing stuff soon.

This is a frame I made the other day, very vintage. Hope you like it.

Altered canvas

Good afternoon my friends,
I hope you are all doing well. Can you believe this is already the end of February, where is this year going? I finally attempted my first altered canvas. The canvas itself looks white, but it is actually pink, blue and green by using Tim Holtz distress inks on them with direct contact method. I then pleated some ribbon from Webster Pages along the bottom using hot glue. The frame around the word SMILE was in my stash. The flowers, corner piece and jewels are from Recolections collection. The clip is Tim Holtz as well as the stamped saying. I'm having a hard time getting the clip to stick to the canvas, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I hope to alter a few more to hang in my craft room. I could also include a picture is I want to take off quote. I hope you like it. I treasure all your comments. Enjoy your weekend.
Krps.the colors are much brighter in person, this looks really washed out.=(

Christmas Tree craft

Hello my friends,
My computer is fixed!! Every year my family draws names from a hat for Christmas and we go to Goodwill and buy a gift for each other. When we wrap it we leave the price tag on, just for fun. This tradition started several years ago figuring it is a good time to help other through Goodwill. We this year, we got crazy! We decided to make a theme tree and buy the stuff from Goodwill. My son decided to make a "game/toy" tree and that we did. We went to Goodwill and bought tons of games to make ornaments from and some jump ropes for garland,we had a blast! This was the ultimate in recycling! More phots to follow, since my computer wont let me put anymore.

Jeanines B-day blog hop

Hello my friends,
My friend asked me to join her B-day Blog Hop and I was honored. I made a table decoration for a B-day party. The paper was Colorblok "so sweet" page kit. I used Something To Celebrate Cricut cartridge for most of the images, except the pinwheel was a die from MFT. I used Stickles to add some sparkle to the cupcake and the "smile" token. The hat and the pinwheel are 3D, so it has some nice dimension. The tin can was from the dollar spot at Target and the presents are Jolee's. The trim is from my supply and the flower on the top of the hat are from Michales. Happy Birthday my friend!! Below you will see the list of blogs to hop to. Have a great day!

M.A.G. challenge #53

Hello my friend,
I hope you are all ready for Thanksgiving and the black Friday deals. I love to shop on black friday, but I'm not seeing any deals this year. What are you going shopping for?

I started a baby album for a friend at work and need to finish by the 5th of December, because she will be back from maternity leave-ugh! Tonight I did a page for the MAG challenge. The challenge was to use Sweet Treats cart pg 70 only. I cut the tag for journaling and added a cute little foam bear. The paper is from K&C-snuggle bug collection. The cordinating page has a large bear, so I thought this would be a great place for her to journal on.

Enjoy your holiday weekend!

Hello my dear friends,
Today I have a tag that was colored with my Copics. I took 2 classes from Suzanne Dean and learned so much!! I haven't practiced much yet, but here is one try. I love this stamp and can't wait to buy it! I'm sorry that I didn't write the colors down that I used. I also used a white gel pen to highlight. Hope you like it. Have a great day!

shoe card

Hello my friends,
Thanks for sticking with me even though I haven't been posting much lately. Things at my house are a little crazy right now. DS had some toe surgery and now has MRSA, so he is going for testing and specialist while I tried to do the right thing and I'm now in a splint. I was coming home from work and saw a girl getting beat, so I called 911 and tried to pull her away, but the guy didn't  like that idea. He ended up squeezing and twisting my wrist, which I let go for 3 weeks. After 3 weeks of still pain I went for X-ray and it is fractured. I now will spend at least 5-6 weeks in a splint. Boy, you never realize how much you use your non-dominat hand til you can't.

After a long few weeks I got together with a friend and actually made a card(2 of the same, to be exact). I used Graphic 45 paper the OZ collection,Crafty Secrets stamps and the Tie the knot Cricut cart for the shoe. The shoe also has glossy accents and stickles to add some shine with a little bling. Hope you like it. I hope to get some more crafting done, but it is a challenge in this brace. Have a great day.

Diaper tricycle

Hello my friends,
It has been crazy trying to get school stuff ready and fitting in a little travel, so I haven't been crafting at all. Tonight I have a diaper tricycle that I made for a friend at work. The idea came from my friend Paulette at scraplette.blogspot.com( around the block with Scraplette). This item uses diapers, receiving blankets, washclothes, bibs, socks and a bottle. It took some time to make, but I think she will love it. Thanks for the idea Paulette.

I hope everyone has had a great summer. I hope to get crafting again after the scrap expo I'm going to this weekend. Have a wonderful evening.

ps. isn't the dog cute riding it?

State pennant

Good morning my friends,
I made a state pennant for the Cricut Circle contest for the CHA road trip. The banner was cut from Birthday Bash cartridge, skyline is from Going Places and the clouds were from Hello Kitty. Above the clouds it says "Chicago-windy city". I really like how this turned out. I'm working on my magnets for the swap today-nothing like waiting til the last minute. Have a great day!
