What a Summer

Hello my friends,
It has been so long since I have blogged and I miss it. I went to Florida to care for my mom. She has jaw cancer and was needing extensive surgery. During the time I was there, she was rushed into another emergency the next day,had a heart attack and many other things. My 2 week visit ended up being 5 weeks, but was happy I was with her. I feel like I didnt have much of a summer. I'm finally getting back to crafting. My newest fun is SMASHING,love it! I will post some photos of my smashing stuff soon.

This is a frame I made the other day, very vintage. Hope you like it.

Altered canvas

Good afternoon my friends,
I hope you are all doing well. Can you believe this is already the end of February, where is this year going? I finally attempted my first altered canvas. The canvas itself looks white, but it is actually pink, blue and green by using Tim Holtz distress inks on them with direct contact method. I then pleated some ribbon from Webster Pages along the bottom using hot glue. The frame around the word SMILE was in my stash. The flowers, corner piece and jewels are from Recolections collection. The clip is Tim Holtz as well as the stamped saying. I'm having a hard time getting the clip to stick to the canvas, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I hope to alter a few more to hang in my craft room. I could also include a picture is I want to take off quote. I hope you like it. I treasure all your comments. Enjoy your weekend.
Krps.the colors are much brighter in person, this looks really washed out.=(

Christmas Tree craft

Hello my friends,
My computer is fixed!! Every year my family draws names from a hat for Christmas and we go to Goodwill and buy a gift for each other. When we wrap it we leave the price tag on, just for fun. This tradition started several years ago figuring it is a good time to help other through Goodwill. We this year, we got crazy! We decided to make a theme tree and buy the stuff from Goodwill. My son decided to make a "game/toy" tree and that we did. We went to Goodwill and bought tons of games to make ornaments from and some jump ropes for garland,we had a blast! This was the ultimate in recycling! More phots to follow, since my computer wont let me put anymore.
